Recycling and carbon report
Tonnes, recycling rate, landfill diversion and estimated carbon, for your whole business or one client.
Where to find it
Open Reports and scroll to Recycling and carbon for the whole business, or open a client and choose the Recycling & carbon tab for that client alone. Multi-site customers see the same figures in their portal, limited to the sites they can see.
Where the figures come from
Every signed transfer note in the period counts, using the weight on section A3 of the note. When a weighbridge ticket is linked to a note, its weight is already written onto the note, so it is not counted twice. The route a load took comes from the receiving site on the collection: the site's recovery or disposal (R/D) code if you have set one, otherwise its site type.
Set the R/D code on your receiving sites
Open Receiving sites, edit a site and choose "What happens to the waste here". Use the operation on the site's permit, for example R3 for paper and plastics recycling or D1 for landfill. Until a site has a code, loads to a transfer station are shown as "final fate not recorded" and left out of the rates.
How the rates are worked out
Recycling rate is recycled tonnes divided by tonnes whose final route is recorded. Landfill diversion is one minus landfilled tonnes over the same base. Tonnes that went to a transfer station or to an unknown destination are shown separately rather than guessed either way.
Carbon estimate
Carbon uses the UK government's Greenhouse gas reporting: conversion factors 2026 (DESNZ), waste disposal factors for commercial and industrial waste: recycling and combustion about 4.65 kg CO2e per tonne, landfill about 520.58 kg CO2e per tonne. Routes with no matching factor, such as storage or physico-chemical treatment, are listed as not estimated. Treat the figure as an estimate for reporting, not a verified carbon footprint.

PDF report gives a branded summary with your logo for a client's sustainability team. CSV lists every client, site, waste code and month. The returns worksheet groups tonnes by waste code and route to help you fill in regulatory returns. It is a working aid built from your notes, not a filed return, so check it against your permit and the regulator's template.
